The Journey so far...
James Warren and Michelle Boone met in 1998 at Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. They were married in 2000 and moved to Michigan City, Indiana. During their time there, they struggled to find a church in the local area that connected to their hearts for outreach and discipleship. After moving to Texas, they became involved in the ministry of True Life Church under the leadership of James’ father, Pastor Joe Warren. During this time, James joined the U.S. Air Force, and God granted his request to join the Air Force Chaplain Corps. God allowed the Warrens to stay in San Antonio for their first assignment, so they continued to minister at True Life in various capacities.
In 2007, James’ Air Force career took their family to Alaska. They became involved serving in a local church and were mentored by amazing, Godly people that challenged them and forced their spiritual growth. In 2010, God called James out of the military and the Warrens back to San Antonio. Now a family of seven, they returned to True Life and brought their new-found fervor into the ministry there.
In 2013, James and Shelly were called to Revolution Church in Selma, Texas, a relatively young and successful church plant. James was quickly brought on staff and within their first year of ministry there, God called them to plant a church! Two years after they partnered with Revolution, the Warrens were called once again back to True Life. But this time, James was to take on the role of executive pastor.
True Life was struggling and had dwindled to 80 members in regular attendance. James, having a new calling on his life, promised two years of service to True Life to help grow the church and work towards a healthy, growing ministry and learn everything that he could about pastoring. Using what God had taught him in Alaska and at Revolution Church, James worked with his father to seek after God’s wisdom. Following God’s lead, everyone began to work “as to the Lord and not unto men.” At the end of two years, God had tripled the attendance at True Life, and it continues to grow beyond any level of success that it has had in its 50+ year existence! Now, it is time to start the next leg of the journey. The Warrens are setting out to do as God has called them and plant a new church, Station Fellowship, in the metroplex of Indianapolis, Indiana.
